I'm Chloe - a journalist-turned-marketer, proud (sausage) dog mum and the human behind Copy by Chloe.
With more than eight years of experience in journalism, marketing and communications, I blend passion, heart and a whole lot of coffee to help small businesses connect with their audience and marketing agencies lighten their load. I’ve been called a “unicorn” (a client’s words, not mine!) for being the go-to person who can juggle all things content and marketing with ease. My writing style is conversational and easy to read, with a strong focus on storytelling. I’m all about helping businesses communicate in a way that feels natural and authentic, rather than a generic sales pitch. That said, I tailor my style to suit each client’s unique brand voice and guidelines, ensuring the copy accurately reflects the business and resonates with their audience. Whether it’s one-off support or ongoing work, I aim to slot in easily and pick up brand tone quickly.
What kind of projects are you looking for?
As an ex-journo, my ideal projects involve some kind of storytelling. I’m keen to work on website copy, newsletters and blogs, but I’m also happy to take on a wide range of tasks, including copy for marketing collateral, emails, and social media support.

My ideal client is a small business owner or marketing consultant who’s looking for a reliable, friendly copywriter to help tick things off their to-do list. They’re approachable, want their brand to stand out without the usual salesy spiel, and trust me to take the lead and get the job done.
What do you charge?
I offer customised quotes tailored to each project, with rates varying depending on scope and complexity. I offer half-day, full-day and monthly rates or ongoing retainers. My usual rate is $80-100 per hour for one-off jobs.
